Individual Account registration and verification (Step-by-Step Guide)

The first step is to access the official EX.IO website through your browser, which can be reached at https://www.ex.io.

Click on “Register” in the top right-hand corner.

Follow the instructions and input the details required to create an account. This includes creating a username, email, password, and adding a referral ID if the website was sent to you by a current EX.IO member.

Upon creating the account, you need to input the verification code received by the registered email address. Then click “Submit”.

After completing email verification, you will be able to log into your account using the username and password you created in the previous steps.

You are required to input the verification code received from your email. Then click “Submit”.

Once on the home screen of your account, you will need to complete the KYC process to start trading. Press the “Verify now” tab written in yellow at the top of the screen.

On this page, you will need to complete the identity verification. Kindly note that once you have selected your account type for verification, it cannot be changed. To start this process, click “Start verification”.

A pop-up will appear prompting you to input a phone number for verification. Press “Next” to proceed.

Input the verification code sent to your phone number and press “Submit”.

Complete the authenticator verification. Download an authenticator app (such as Google Authenticator) and press “Continue”.

Use the authenticator app on your mobile device to scan the provided QR code. Once completed on your mobile device, press “Continue”.

Make a note of the secret key as a backup in case you lose your device.

Enter the verification code received via phone number and the authenticator code from the app.

Upon setting up the authenticator app, complete the ID & Face verification by clicking “Start Now”

Click on “Start verification” to begin the process. 

17) 

Choose the country that issued your identity document.

Select the type of identity document you possess. 

19) 

Press “Continue on phone” or “upload photo” to upload the ID document.

After submitting the document, take a selfie to confirm your identity using a computer or phone camera.

Check the accuracy of the data extracted from the ID on the “Confirm Information” page. Click “Edit Information” if needed; otherwise, click “Confirm & Continue”.  

Note: Discrepancies may lead to onboarding delays.

Fill in your personal details accurately in the “Personal Information” section.

Next up is the “Suitability Assessment”. Click on “Start now” to begin the assessment, then proceed to complete it by selecting the answer that you believe best reflects your risk profile. You are allowed only three attempts to take the assessment within a one-month period.  

If all 3 attempts are used, you will need to wait 30 calendar days from the date of your first attempt before retaking the test.

Once the assessment is done, your risk level will be displayed. Click “Continue”.

Initiate the “Virtual asset knowledge” test by pressing “Start now”.

Complete the test by selecting the correct answers and clicking “Continue”.

Please carefully review the “Agreements and Consents”. Once reviewed and agreed upon, you are required to check the boxes to complete the KYC process.

Your KYC verification submission is expected to be reviewed within 3 business days. The process may take longer in exceptional circumstances.

After our EX.IO onboarding team has completed the review without any issues, you have one final step to complete: Choose between bank verification (only for Hong Kong registered bank accounts) or mailing certified documents to the EX.IO office as instructed on the website.
